About me

I am based in Scotland just outside Glasgow. I have drawn and painted all my life. I nearly went to art school but then ended up in university before a brief spell doing photography. From there, I started a career in the film & tv industry working my way up the career ladder, to become a film and tv drama producer which is what I have been doing for many years.

However, in the last few years, I have drifted back to my first love; drawing and painting.

My style is realistic but I also strive to bring an emotional energy to my drawings. My hand drawn portraits are drawn from your photos but I do not try to create an exact photographic replica of the subject. Rather I try and capture the spirit of the subject. As humans we are psychologically programmed to look at the central triangle of the face; eyes, nose and mouth. This is what I concentrate on with my pencil portrait drawings . I tend to let the background fade away and avoid details that will distract the viewer from the subjects face.

I hope you like my portrait drawings and if you would like to ask me any questions, then please do get in touch.
